Born and raised in Houston, TX, Jimmy G. Mai is the product of American Imperialism at its most absolute. The Mexican-Vietnamese American graduated from the University of Houston - Downtown and Sam Houston State University with degrees in English and Library Science respectively. He has been published in UHD’s literary magazine The Bayou Review where he was also an editor, has had his plays performed/produced in Houston, and has been on Houston Public Media’s (NPR) The Front Row for the same. Jimmy Mai is currently splitting his time between Guadalajara, Mexico and Houston where he is working on his 6th novel.
